Reflections of My Motherhood Journey

On August 1, 1986, God blessed me to become a mother when my firstborn, Darnaya (who is now 25 years old and a mother of two herself), came into the world in Brooklyn, NY.  My life instantly became greater not only in responsibility, but in blessings.  Darnaya was indeed quite a gift to behold and so she is to me today: She is and has been such a wonderful daughter to me.  For that, I’m truly grateful to God and thankful to her.  She has blessed me to become a “Glam-Mommy” of two beautiful Grand-Princesses – who I’ll focus on tomorrow in my Mother’s Day Weekend Blogging reflections.  

Surprisingly 13 years later on March 26, the Lord granted me another priceless gift when my baby boy, DaSean (13 years old) came into the world in the presence of my self-adopted 2nd Mom, Susan, my GodMother Earlene, and DaSean’s GodMother Ronda (his Dad’s Navy ship was in Spain at the time of his birth although we videotaped the memories).  Talk about being ecstatic to have a son – and my excitement has only increased over the years:  DaSean keeps me moving and shaking in activities, like football, that I’d never dreamed I’d learn to enjoy or even understand for that matter (LOL).  Remember, I was adjusted to being a “Girly Mom” attending dance classes and fashion shows (smile).  Now, I’ve become a sports fanatic and I’m loving it!  I thank God that as a single-Mom to DaSean, we are surrounded by an entire village of God-fearing, family-oriented and successful-minded men within our family, church and community who pour into DaSean’s life tremendously.  As a result, he is a fine young man (with “Godly Swag,” as one of my Royal Soaror Sisters recently described him) and is continuously maturing to become a fine gentleman in the future.  He is my present drummer/percussionist and future airpilot and NFL #1 Draft Pick! “Go, DaSean, I’m supporting you all the way!!!”

“Heavenly Father, I thank You for blessing me with two beautiful children to call my own, although I know they, first and foremost, belong to You. Continue to cover them with Your Love, wisdom, strength and guidance so they can continue to be blessed themselves and a blessing to others.”

“Darnaya and DaSean, thank you for being the priceless gifts that give me a reason to celebrate and be called to the beautiful role of “MOTHER.”

Bursting With God-Love!

I woke up this morning feeling a fresh dose of Abba’s love!  Nothing else seems to matter to me today other than the fact that God is Love and so am I! As His Royal Daughter, I have the honor and privilege of lying down and waking up every day of my life with God-Love covering and hovering over me. Guess what my Royal Siblings? So do you!

 Walk in God-Love like you’re going somewhere… Divine Destiny!

 In this fast-paced greedy-style world, if we’re not careful, we can get “sucked” into believing we’re unloved or unimportant.  But that is a lie straight from the pit of hell.  On the contrary, your life matters to God and His Love is always available to you.  You and I were born to Love and to be Loved unconditionally.  You and I have the privilege to receive God’s Love, the right to express God’s Love, and the mandate to share God’s Love with others.  When we accept and exchange these priceless Love gifts, we instantly begin changing within ourselves and the world around us for the better.  As I tweeted this morning on Twitter as @HisLoveEvang, “God-Love – Eat it, Speak it, Receive it, Live it, and for God’s sake Royal Siblings, please Demonstrate it!”

Today is a new day to receive a fresh dose of Abba’s Love specifically gifted just to you!  The pain and disappointments of yesterday are gone.  Tomorrow is not guaranteed.  Love from the True Source is flowing in and all around you right now – graciously receive it!  Love on yourself, and I guarantee you, others will be magnetized to love right back on you!  Beginning with me…

Darnella’s Happenings

My Dearest Royal Readers,

Wow, it has been quite some time since I’ve blogged, but trust me, I’ve been busier for our Lord over the past few months than I’ve ever been.  In fact, I just realized that I hadn’t blogged since the new year rang in.  I’m so excited about all that Abba God is doing in me and through me for His glory! Let me catch you up to speed with me…

On January 23^rd, my second granddaughter, Zaivia Danielle, was born and I was there to witness her blessed birth as well as was the first person (in our family) to hold her (this reminded me of when my self-adopted 2nd Mom Susan Sherzer was in delivery with me when my son DaSean was born and she was the first person in our family to hold him).  One of the first things I did upon holding Zaivia Danielle, was speak God’s love, anointing and blessings upon her life as a Royal Daughter of Christ who will (prayerfully) one day grow up, along with her big sister, Samaya Pearl, to take the reign of leadership in the organization which her “Glam-Mommy” Dar founded in 2010.

February 18^th, I attended a friend’s family retreat at the Wyndham Resorts in Williamsburg, VA where I received prophetic instruction from God through Prophetess Tia Langdon to change the traditional spelling of “Sorority” to the spiritual connotation of “Soarority” in The Daughters of Christ, Inc.’s name which expresses clearly our non-secular viewpoint and mission as women of God “soaring” and “catapulting” for God’s glory through God-love and –service.  We are now known as The Daughters of Christ “Soarority.” 

March 2^4th, in honor of my Co-Host’s, Min. Darren A. Davis’, 1^st Year Anniversary on our BTR Show, I changed the name to “The Son & Daughter of Christ Speak BlogTalkRadio Show,” which now boasts over 7,500 listens!  March 26^th, my son, DaSean, turned 13 years old which means, I am now a doting mother of a teenage boy (pray for my strength in the Lord family)!  Part of our celebration into “manhood” was shopping at Nordstrom for his first men-sized tailored suit: He chose a Calvin Klein which he wore to our organization’s Founders Weekend Royal Induction Banquet and was too fine to behold!  

April 1st, As Founder, I’m so proud to say: Happy 2^nd Birthday to The Daughters of Christ, Inc.!  April 8^th, Happy 1^st Birthday to The Sons of Christ, Inc.!  April 13-15^th, Along with Royal Brother Darren, I hosted The Sons & Daughters of Christ (first unified) Founders Weekend 2012 (yes, we let the brothers join us this year)!  This was The DsOC’s 2^nd annual event and our fraternity brotherhood’s 1^st one.  Our new DsOC Royal Soarors and SsOC Royal Brothers were inducted into our awesome Royal Society Family at our Royal Induction Banquet held on that Saturday evening at the Hyatt Dulles Hotel:  Thank you to the wonderful, hospitable and professional staff at Hyatt Dulles for making our event a successful one (as always, your food was delicious).  Our Royal Brothers and Soaror Sisters throughout the U.S. in our organizations attended for an entire weekend that included a Royal Welcome Reception to open FW2012 on Friday evening, Morning Glory with Soaking Prayer, Healing and Seminar Sessions on Saturday, and as our finale, a Sunday Morning Worship Service.  I want to personally thank you, my family and friends, who supported me through your love, prayers and financial donations to be a blessing to so many others at this momentous event.  May God continue to bless you abundantly in return!

Now, after having rested from, although I’m still soaring as a result of, The Sons & Daughters of Christ Founders Weekend 2012, I’m passionately releasing the Love of God in every way and to everyone I can!

Please keep me uplifted in your prayers as you and your families are in my mine.

Happy New Year 2012!!!

My Dearest Royal Readers,

DaddyGod has brought each of us a mighty long way! He has blessed us with another year as well as graced us with more opportunities to bring His Name great glory in the earth as Sons & Daughters. You and I have a royal right to praise our God!

Each of us experienced highs and lows – good times and bad during the year 2011.  There were things we believed God for by faith that were and were not manifested.  But one thing is for sure, God gave us exactly what we needed according to His pattern and His will for our individual lives.  Our hard tests have become strong testimonies that taught us valuable lessons and will also provide others usuable wisdom in their own lives when faced with similar challenges.

I’m in high expectation this year for all that DaddyGod has for me. Also, I’m looking forward to God using me in a greater way as His Daughter & Love Evangelist.  May I be blessed this year unlike I’ve ever been blessed before so that I can in turn be a blessing to more people this year than I was in the last.

I want to personally thank you for loving, supporting and praying for me throughout the year! Thank you for your lovingkindness, inspirational greetings, blessed gifts and all that you’ve done to touch my life the way our Heavenly Father touches our’s. You have made a loving impact on my life that has helped me to make a great impact on others.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

May you and your families have a phenomenal 2012 and experience an abundance of His love in your lives beginning here with me!

Peebles, transitioned to glory. Because He Is, I Am… The Daughter of Christ as well as a Spiritual Daughter of the late Apostle Dr. Betty P. Peebles and now her awesome son, Pastor Joel R. Peebles, Sr. of The (Jericho) City of Praise located in Landover, MD. Words cannot even begin to describe the God-loving, righteous and humble ministry leadership the Peebles family has served my life (and the lives of thousands of others) with over the years/decades. In spite of their rise to mega-church status in ministry, they have always been and remain the most touchable and approachable Pastors I have ever met in the Kingdom of God (and being raised in church as well as active in ministry, I’ve met many). I never felt lost as 1 of 10,000+ because Apostle Mom and Pastor Joel both release so much familial love that you know you are home amongst Spiritual Parents and family when you’re in service.

I often say, good Pastors without self-agendas, pride and arrogance who truly have a heart for God and His people are (sadly) hard to find in these evil last days. Therefore, when we are blessed to find and sit under one, we need to stand still and up (when necessary) with these rare Kingdom treasures. Such is the reason I remain at The City of Praise under the leadership of the Peebles’ servant leadership and legacy, because like his awesome parents, Pastor Joel is indeed one of those Kingdom treasures and Generals on the battlefield for God’s glory as opposed to his own!

Thank you, My Royal Sister The Church Lady, for sharing our (the Sons & Daughters of The City of Praise who support Pastor Joel, his family and our longtime Trustee Board Chairman William Meadows (whom Apostle Mom always referred to as such (“Chairman”) which is how I knew a Board existed at Jericho City of Praise) story with your audience.May our DaddyGod continue to bless you and catapult you in life and ministry!

My Dearest Royal Readers,

You and I have so much to be Thankful for!

Our awesome Abba God not only created us, but received us as Sons & Daughters. We have a God Who loves and cares for us. We have a God who has provided all of our need according to His riches and glory. We have a God who loves us in spite of our personal failures and disappointments. We have a God who allowed us to live to see another Thanksgiving holiday – a time we are blessed to spend with family and friends to honor our faithful God.

I’m personally thankful for all of the blessings our God has bestowed upon me, one of which are you – my (natural and spiritual) family, friends and community! Thank you for touching my life and ministry with yours, as well as for your support and prayers.

From my family to yours, may you have a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving holiday with those close to your heart as you are to mine.

This Heart of Mine!

My Dearest Royal Readers,

It’s been quite a while since I’ve blogged, but I haven’t ceased sharing Abba’s divine Love and life-changing Messages as a Daughter. Life has been busy, and at times, challenging, but it will never hinder me from Loving God, Loving myself and Loving you.  You and your families have been and will always remain in my heart and prayers.

In September, I began a new (secular) job as well as traveled every weekend for ministry assignments: One of my highlights was serving as the Mistress of Ceremony for my Brother-in-Law’s, Minister-elect Winfred Basnight’s, Initial Sermon held in Moyock, NC where most of my paternal side of my family attended. Congratulations Winfred on becoming another mouthpiece for God in our family!

During the month of October alone, I’ve faced the difficult pain of losing three people who were special and significant parts of my life: My 44-year-old cousin, Rhonda Jones; my very first Pastor and Spiritual Father, Bishop Landon E. Penn (Founder of Universal Temple Church of God, Brooklyn, NY) and the father, Deacon Hoey W. Best, of one of my DsOC Royal Soror Sisters. I literally attended each of their Homegoing Celebration/funerals on three (3) weekends back-to-back in a row. But God! Even in the midst of death, I experienced the Love of God through family, friends and strangers in such a powerful way. My heart was touched, moved and changed forever during these seasons of transition not only for each of my loved ones, but for me too.

This heart of mine is stronger and more passionate for Love and life now than it ever has been before. I’ve realized that my time to reach out and Love, touch or help someone is limited. Therefore, I must make every moment of my blessed, yet humble life count. My daily prayer to Abba God now includes, “Father, pour more of Your Love deeply within me so that more of Your Love can come flowing out to bless the world around me for your glory.”

I share and invite you to add this or a similar request to your personal prayer closet. When we get our Love-walk and hearts aligned with the Source of Love – our Creator God, then the world will truly indeed be a place in which sorrow may still consist, but where the joy of our Lord shall more abound!

Today, I’m counting my blessings of being surrounded by Loving and Loyal family and friends — my priceless gifts from Abba God. I pray you’re able to do the same.

Loving Friendship

“And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father’s house. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his word, and to his bow, and to his girdle.“ — 1 Samuel 18:1-4 (NLT)

My Dearest Royal Readers:

The Scripture above is one of my favorite examples from Abba God of loving and loyal friendship between two people. It has been and remains the barometer by which I aspire to and measure my personal life as a friend to those whom God has blessed me with as friends. What a gift from God to be knitted to the soul of another by the unconditional love and power of God that changeth or faileth not!

This past weekend, I was so honored and blessed to be the speaker at a Girlfriend Family & Friends Pool Party held at a private residence in Fort Washington, MD where approximately 90 women were in attendance. As requested by the party’s beautiful Host, my brief, yet empowering, message to my Royal Sisters was entitled, “Loving Friendship.” I introduced my message with the story of Jonathan and David, and after doing so, could have ended it right there as the Word of God is sufficient in and of itself. The loving power of God immediately began to reign upon us captivating our hearts and challenging our minds with respect to the type of friend we’ve individually been to those in our lives. I knew immediately that the Holy Spirit had ruled out my personal plans to just speak briefly and sit down — “to not make it a church service” – and instead instructed me to flow throughout the sisterhood present to graciously and unconditionally give my Signature Royal Hugs out to each and every sister there. I obeyed the Holy Spirit Who empowered me to also pray for some as well as speak prophetically into the lives of others. The healing power of God flowed freely just like the waters in the beautiful outdoor underground pool we surrounded. It is an experience that I often have in ministry, but one that I never get used to: The testimony of God’s love flowing out of me as a humble giver, while also receiving love in return as a result from an open recipient. And this, my Royal Family, is indicative of the beginning of what can and hopefully becomes life-changing and long-lasting friendships between two people brought together by the divine plan of God!

True friends who stick with you through thick and thin are hard to find when we’re searching for or they come on their own accord: But as Sons and Daughters of God, they come as a priceless gift labeled Brother-friend or Sister-friend because you both truly are not just friends, but Kingdom Brothers and Sisters as well.

May God heal any broken, renew all present, and release some new friendships in our lives today that give us a powerful Jonathan and David-style testimony to share with others tomorrow.

I love you my Brother- or Sister-friend and thank God for touching my life with your’s!

Expressions of Love

“Count it not strange when someone shows you love; count it all joy when you’re blessed to hear someone say, “I love you.”  — Darnella Moore 

My heart almost burst wide open when the Holy Spirit spoke this quote to me one morning. As normally is the case when the Loving Holy Spirit begins speaking to and through my heart, tears of joy and thanksgiving began to flow from my eyes as I ponder on the goodness of God’s love that operates in my life. How sobering and humbling.

Our awesome God has countless ways of expressing His unconditional love towards us.  He has also provided many ways for us to do the same towards each other.  His love is ever flowing and never ending.  It is bountifully available for us to experience as well as for us to share.  Whether we’re on the receiving or releasing end of His love, you and I are on the winning side because love conquers all!

It amazes me when I reach out to hug someone (yes, I’m a hugger) as opposed to merely shaking their hands and their response is aloof.  In some cases, they appear shocked that I would dare render them a loving hug as I’d done something strange to them although such a gift should be a normal occurrence of greeting one another with Godly love.  Nevertheless, after my hug is lovingly given, that person almost always realizes that I came to heal and not hurt them with absolutely no strings attached. 

I, on the other hand, find it strange when people freeze up at the presentation of love.  My mind often wonders in these instances, “why in the world would a person reject love.”  I’m then reminded of the fact that each of us has different life experiences, worldviews and relational backgrounds which may or may not include wealthy doses of healthy love.  It is also when I’m reminded of how timely my unique calling is, as His love Evangelist, to release God’s divine love truly is.

Divine love is my entire DNA; love is who I am; love is all around me just because I am the Daughter of the Source of love – God!  My daily prayer is for God to pour more of His love into me so that I can release His love upon others.

… And when I do – release His love, that is, I hope that the next person I reach out to will receive it as wholeheartedly and willingly as I release it.  Receive and release the love of God today!
